Chinese artists testify to the development and complexity of their society, caught up in the whirlwind of the industrial, technological, social and artistic boom. Their works, some of which are monumental, strongly emphasise the changes that this immense country has undergone, faced with the challenges of globalisation and its confrontation with the West.
This new exhibition reflects the emergence of a new generation of female artists, rising from a “realist, traditional” art which has already found its place in museums, galleries, collections, and biennials. Films and videos, also made by women, will be shown on the fringes of this exhibition.
